Designer LiLi Jackson created the Tetra Collection to go beyond seating as modular, multi-functional surfaces. Inspired by the playfulness of Tetris and mathematician/poet Piet Hein’s SOMA cubes, the configurations may be arranged to form seating, desks, lounges, stacked in various compositions to change space in a room, adding multiple levels and solve math problems.
A lifelong environmentalist, Jackson received her BA in Global Environmental Policy before earning her Masters of Industrial Design at Pratt Institute. Sustainability has therefore always been an important factor in her designs, making the Tetra Collection from recycled foam padding not only green, it’s (multicolored!) soft, and strong. For extra durability, the collection is upholstered in a reflective nylon mesh, allowing transparency of process and materials.
